ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The
Department of Public Works is responsible for delivering capital improvement
projects for a wide variety of City facilities and infrastructure, maintaining
City facilities and fleet assets, facilitating and regulating development
activities, and providing animal care and services.
The

WHY WITH US?
The Department of Public Works is looking for a student in
Computer Science or GIS courses that is willing to work on a student project to
develop an interactive map for viewing Capital Improvement Projects. You will
gain practical experience and exposure by developing applications that support
the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION & DUTIES- Creating services-driven web
applications using Python
- Experience creating database-driven
web applications
- Familiarity with Google Map
and ArcGIS Online APIs
- JavaScript and DOJO coding
experience and debugging skills helpful
- Experience with traditional
GIS systems (e.g., Esri) is desirable
- Ability to work
collaboratively and productively in a small team
